The Kindness Trio

An evening of gritty, quasi-jazz led by eastern Idaho compose college professors including Aaron Miller on bass, Justin Nielsen on piano, and Jens kuross on drums.

Concentric Circles

May 26, 2022 Saturday, Pachangas, 7 pm

An evening of original and standard jazz led by eastern Idaho composer and drummer Caleb Coleman. . The performance was full of dynamics, intensity, musical swells, and impeccable timing.

EIJS Jazz & Blues Festival

A day full of live performances from some of the best local jazz and blues bands. This festival was held at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls where there was plenty of open space to spread out, relax, and take in some great live music on a beautiful Idaho summer day. The event was free and open to the general public.


Bill Anschell/Brent Jensen

March 19, 2022 Saturday, Downtown Events Center, 12 pm - 2 pm

An afternoon of jazz featuring Seattle-based pianist Bill Anschell and saxophonist Brent Jensen. Anschell and Jensen beautifully presented the jazz duet for what it is, one of the most intimate and creative forms of musical collaboration. The performance was full of emotional intensity, chemistry, quick wit, and impeccable timing.

Albritton McClain & The Bridge of Souls

Albritton McClain is a prolific songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and charismatic entertainer who has toured with major recording acts for over four decades.  Winner of the 2006 Washington Blues Society “Performer of The Year” Award, he has recorded and performed with such artists as: Mike Bloomfield, Roy Buchanan, Sweet Lightnin’, The Silencers, David Werner, Les’ Variations, The Sacred Mushroom, Beechwood Farm, The Innocent, and Donnie Iris & The Cruisers, among others.

 Albritton has shared the stage and billing with some of the music industry's most innovative and popular artists of our time: Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Jim Croce, Delaney & Bonnie, Rush, Buddy Miles, Three Dog Night, NRBQ, The James Gang, Pat Benatar, Grand Funk Railroad, Nazareth, John McLaughlin, Foghat, Ted Nugent, U.F.O., Hall & Oates, Loverboy, Joan Jett, Bryan Adams, The Kinks, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Foreigner, Journey, Pat Metheny, Iggy Pop, Eddie Money, Huey Lewis, The Romantics, Chuck Berry, and the list goes on.

He blends a wealth of professional experience and musical savvy, bringing to the stage his own unique brand of excitement and quality-intensive entertainment.

 Come and join him for a fun and soulful performance of ‘High-Energy Rhythm & Blues’ as “Albritton McClain & The Bridge Of Souls”, with special guests: John Anderson, Matt Barranti, Russell Thompson, and Kevin Young.


Kristin Korb

There are few bassists who can sing and there are even fewer who can do it well. Billings native, Kristin Korb has carved a niche as one of the finest in that realm. Known for her exuberant spirit and contagious optimism, Korb returns to her roots for a tour across Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Joining Korb for the tour are Montana all-stars Craig Hall (guitar) and Erik Olson (piano, saxophone). While earning her masters degree from the University of California in San Diego, Kristin met and studied with bass icon Ray Brown. She now lives in Denmark and tours internationally as an artist and educator. Craig Hall is a mainstay for concerts in Montana and is also known as a master educator. In 2013, Erik Olson accepted a position at Sheridan College as a piano and saxophone instructor. Erik also is one of the founders of Allied Music, which is a well known performing arts academy located in Billings, MT.


2018

Max Hatt/Edda Glass/Clipper Anderson Trio

Max Hatt / Edda Glass have "an incomparable spook” (Nashville Scene) and a "unique sound" (Larry Groce, NPR) that's taken them across the county from NPR Mountain Stage to NYC's Lincoln Center, DC's Kennedy Center, and the Sundance Film Festival. Glass's voice ultimately "one of a kind...you cannot confuse her with another artist" (New York Theatre Guide). Hatt's equally distinctive guitar work combines the harmonic innovations of jazz and classical with the melodic resonance of folk, creating music that's "subtly poignant, elegantly funky, and haunting without trying to be" (Nels Cline, Wilco).  

 

Scriver Baker Sjobeck Trio

Led by native Idahoan pianist Alexandra Sjobeck, the Colorado-based SBS Trio presented nostalgic, traditional jazz influenced by Oscar Peterson and Miles Davis. Joined by David Baker on bass and Sarute Wijitwechakarn on drums, the trio embraced a sophisticated style with a modern take on a timeless genre.

Virtuoso guitarist, Robert Conti, delivered a masterful performance of jazz standards and originals with uneering technical command and precision. Conti was backed by John Anderson (Drums), Bob Dunmire (Sax), Terrel Merkley (Keys) and Russ Thompson (Bass).
